Alternative rock band X Ambassadors to perform in Baltics

X Ambassadors

Mark your calendars for February 17th and 18th, when the American alternative rock band X Ambassadors will play in Riga and Vilnius. The concert promises mix of their well-known hits and new songs.

17.02. Latvia, Riga, Palladium Riga

18.02. Lithuania, Vilnius, Compensa Concert Hall

X Ambassadors began their musical journey in 2009. With three albums under their belt, the band considers themselves a rock band, although their musical sound incorporates elements of various other styles. They are not afraid to experiment and have worked with hip-hop, pop, and electronic music artists. Eminem, Bebe Rexha, Imagine Dragons, Lost Frequency, Kygo, Lizzo – these are just a few of the names with whom X Ambassadors have collaborated. In 2020, the American hip-hop and R&B star Lizzo won a Grammy award for Best R&B Performance for the song “Jerome" from album “Cuz I Love You”, which was co-written with X Ambassadors.

The renowned creators of modern rock anthems have released several singles, including "Litost," which was featured in the soundtrack of the film "The Host." The song "Unconsolable" catapulted the X Ambassadors music career to new heights. While in the hospital, Imagine Dragons' singer Dan Reynolds heard the acoustic version of the song and immediately asked the record label "Interscope" to sign a contract with the song's authors.

Frontman Sam Harris, in the band's creative process, draws inspiration from his brother Casey, who has been blind since childhood:

“Casey has always been such an inspiring person to me, given all the challenges and what he had to go through himself. His superpower is just being infinitely grateful for everything he has in life. I've never seen anything like it in anyone else,” says Sam.

The band's debut album "VHS" went platinum, elevating X Ambassadors from alternative rockers and Brooklyn indie rock outsiders to Billboard heroes. This album offers an intimate look into the moments of Sam Harris' and his brother Casey Harris' youth, enhanced by home videos, early recordings, and rehearsal audio fragments. The album also included hits like "Unsteady" and “Renegades.”

In 2019, following the success of “VHS”, the band released their second album "Orion," and in March 2020, they released the EP album "Belong," inspired by 60s and 70s soul music and R&B.

The third full-length album “The Beautiful Liar” is the latest and most ambitious result of the band's hyper-creative tendencies. It was released in 2021, paying homage to beloved childhood fictions through its main singles, “My Own Monster” and “Okay”. Simultaneously, the album delves into themes of political, social, and economic fear, employing a wild mix of styles—from Broadway songwriting of the 30s to hardcore punk, gothic R&B, all the way to electronic and trap beats.
