Fresh alternative pop artist Kitty Florentine has released her long-awaited debut album “Maladaptive Daydream”.
“Maladaptive Daydream” speaks of the self that has invested its energy into an expired idea or perception of who you are. How you laugh, how you hug, how you make love. What kind of music do you listen to, who are your friends, and what are your thoughts. This is more or less an invitation to be still in the graceful and brave action of being alive. To release the burden of a past self that is no longer aligned.
The album has two mainlines of sound - one of extreme intimacy and closeness, a whisper in your ear. The other is the delicious feeling of doom you romanticize to stay put in an endless loop.
“I’ve been working on my debut for about two years, so it feels really liberating to finally share it with the audience,” adds the artist. Album was produced with Taavi-Peeter Liiv and Metabora, mixed and mastered by José Diogo Neves.
Kitty Florentine is an alternative artist, who creates soundscapes that dissolve boundaries. She presents to you a fairytale that allows reality to expand infinitely. With a soft yet full-bodied vocal accompanied by a forceful genre-bending instrumental, she invites you to take part in a story of one person’s life experience, entangled in resistance, tenderness, rage, and warmth.
At the end of the month, on the 20th of October, she’s gonna do her first solo show in Sveta Baar, Tallinn with a performance-live concert to present her debut album “Maladaptive Daydream”.
