Following an eventful year, including participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, Dons has released his ninth studio album "Laiks" (eng. Time), as well as the album's accompanying single "Bultiņa melnā". Soon, on 17 August, the musician invites his audience to a long-awaited concert at Daugava Stadium. Tickets here.
Here is what Dons says about the new record:
"In recent years, what has appealed to me the most is collaboration with different musicians and producers - writing songs together, searching for melodies and rhymes, creating the wholeness of a song. This album was written in a year and a half, many songs were written outside Latvia, and as this time was very productive, many songs were left behind the line. Now the album is ready for the listeners and I am happy that soon after its release I will be able to premiere some of it in front of thousands of listeners".
The album's accompanying single is the song "Bultiņa melnā". The single "Bultiņa melnā" was written by Artūrs Šingirejs, Kim W and Mikus Frišfelds. Song also features a cheerful and summery video visual:
Talking about the new single, Dons shares: "This single was written between Berlin and Riga and fits beautifully with the positive summer energy pulsating around us. I want to remind myself, but also my listeners, that when we feel stuck, we need to calm down a bit, get back to sleep and start again!"
Soon, on 17 August, Dons will meet his audience at the Daugava Stadium in the concert "Laiks". Dons is looking forward to it:
"It's a hectic time of work and rehearsals, there will be surprise guests, new songs, works from the very beginning of my career. This is the biggest stage I have ever stepped on for a solo concert, of course there is anxious excitement, but above all I feel thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to perform my music to so many people. I promise it will be a special evening for all of us!"
