Latvian singer KATŌ latest music video for the single “Teikšu, kā ir” (eng. "I will say as it is") surprises the viewers with a mayonnaise promotion at the end of the clip. Dynamic video is visually conjured by director Elvīra Blumfelde and DOP Ivo Skanstiņš.
Song “Teikšu, kā ir” main character begins an emotional battle with herself, while having survived anger and resentment over the end of a loving relationship. The saying “out of sigh, out of heart” does not work for this situation - sorrow dominates other emotions.
“I guess someone will say that this is just another song about love, but I must admit that the twists and turns of relationships between two people has always been my favorite subject. It opens up the songwriter's opportunity to experience different scenarios and look for new solutions to heartbreaking situations. No two relationship models are exactly the same, “ says KATŌ about the song.
The clip gives an opportunity to have a look at the production and filming set, which usually stays unseen for a regular viewer. Music video director E. Blumfelde comments:
“Together with music video DOP Ivo Skanstiņš, we got an idea of bringing 'behind the scenes' of a movie set upfront, which definitely isn't the place were we are used to see it. KATŌ plays the role of various professions, without which any movie process could not be possible. The characters in the clip played by the singer perform their direct work duties, without their colleagues being aware of their emotional world and personal problems, as is the case in any profession's daily life."
"Teikšu, kā ir" is KATŌ first single since the release of the album “Es tā jūtos” in autumn 2021.
