Truly energetic “Lovesong” by Lithuanian post punk band Local Blood

Local Blood. Lovesong.

Post-punk band "Local Blood" from Vilnius, Lithuania did quite a good job this season: at the beginning of 2022 the guys released their full album and vinyl under the name “Dystopian Disco”, performed at all the most famous Lithuanian alternative music events, festivals, showcases and as this year is coming to the end — they have announced their latest solo song called “Lovesong”.

In “Lovesong”, the band talks about domestic relationships. About conflicts that take place behind closed doors, sometimes heard by the neighbors, sometimes only reach the ears of the family’s children. The song is inspired by a “Local Blood” bandmate’s stories about seeing pictures of men holding fish on “Tinder” dating app. This always raised a lot of questions for her: “How can this kind of self-representation help you find a second half? What does this mean? Does a big fish mean a big libido? How is the big fish better than the smaller one?” Band members add:

“This song is the first glimpse at our new creative phase. With “Lovesong”, we end the “Dystopian Disco” and go deeper into more intimate things, only talked about behind closed doors because of shame or some other more personal reasons.”

After releasing their new song, the band also invited all alternative music fans to a very special concert at the Art Factory "Loftas" venue in Vilnius. This gig was not only the closure of “Local Blood” successful year, but also the beginning of a new phase, where the new album, live concerts, various projects and other news await. “That’s why we’re really grateful to each and everyone who writes about us, comes to our concerts, supports this kind of music and us as artists to move forward and never stop creating.”
