YASMYN’s new studio album, released on the 26th of May by Estonian label TIKS rekords, is a mixture of neo-soul and alternative R&B.
„This album bears my artist name because I feel like I’ve reached the genre that characterizes me musically the most and reflects what I want to do as an artist,“ Yasmyn adds.
“YASMYN” contains works from various Estonian and US producers. Kaspar Kolk, who mixed all the tracks, also contributes as a co-author. Two singles have already been released – a love song “How Much” and the empowering breakup anthem “I Had It Good”. The overarching theme of her sophomore album is love that often takes us through different phases – honeymoon, relationship, break-up and the constant circulation of these processes.
„My new LP is the most complete, abundant and mature creation I have ever made. I notice how much time and soul I have put into this project and I feel that I have finally reached a place where my work can be considered very competitive in Estonia and abroad. With this album, I want to offer the Estonian listener the joy of recognition and the opportunity to say „Yes, this artist is really Estonian,“ comments Yasmyn.
