Formed in 1982, the band have released seventeen studio albums, starting with “From Her To Eternity” in 1984, to the Bad Seeds' latest album ‘Ghosteen’ (2019), which has been widely received as their best work ever.
Australian singer and songwriter Nick Cave was studying art in Melbourne and started his musical journey in one of the city’s leading post-punk bands The Birthday Party. After relocating to London and then to Berlin, The Birthday Party broke up and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was born. Cave's music is generally characterised by emotional intensity, a wide variety of influences and lyrical obsessions with death, religion, love and violence.
Worldwide mainstream success was achieved when quieter, piano-driven ballads such as “Where the Wild Roses Grow” (1994) together with Kylie Minogue and “Into My Arms” (1997) were released.
One of the most critically acclaimed acts working today, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have sold over 5 million albums worldwide to date. Their influence has been profound and far-reaching with many artists covering their work (including Johnny Cash, Metallica, Snoop Dogg) and citing their influence, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds continue to remain peerless and defy expectations.
