As the sun was setting on July 31st, guitarist Gints Smukais performed on the Raiskums Lake on a floating stage, presenting his second studio album “Thaw” with an intimate concert that featured compositions from the new album as well as songs from his first album “Flourish” and guitarists take on popular pieces.
“This concert is a story about how the right people meet at the right place and time, agree on one goal and dare to fully commit to jump into the unknown to create this event that thrilled me, right from the moment I went on the floating stage. . It was hard to keep these emotions in me and get to say something more than just “Thank you”. The work of several months had reached its culmination and this point was higher than we had aimed with our small team with whom we committed to organize this concert. That’s why I just “couldn’t believe” it during the whole concert. However, it is worth believing. Thank you to everyone who supported and created this event, so that this beauty would materialize from the idea in a memorable story,” comments the artist.''
