Taking into account the current situation in the country, the organizers of the festival have decided to move the festival Summer Sound, taking place in Liepāja, Latvia, to the summer of 2022 – July 29 and 30, almost completely preserving the entire program announced so far.
“We are constantly monitoring the epidemiological situation, the vaccination process and government decisions regarding restrictions. It looks like life is slowly returning back to normal but not fast enough to be able to organize a full-fledged Summer Sound festival this year. We need time to prepare for the largest beach event in the Baltics. Thus, even if there were the slightest hope that events with more than 500 visitors in one place could be allowed soon, we would have limited time to be able to prepare a festival that meets our quality and performance requirements. That is why we make a safe decision for visitors and for the quality of the festival – to move the Summer Sound festival to the summer of 2022 ”, comments the festival organizer Uldis Pabērzis.
The Summer Sound festival on Liepāja beach will take place on July 29 and 30, 2022. This will be the tenth festival in a row and Uldis Pabērzis ensures the festival visitors that “Then we will celebrate it properly!”
At the moment almost all previously announced festival artists have agreed to perform at the 2022 festival as well, thus no major changes are expected in the festival line-up. The Summer Sound festival will include performances by the French DJ Kungs, the DJ duo Ofenbach, the bands Mumiy Troll, Musiqq, Jumprava, Singapūras Satīns, Astro’n’out, Dagamba, Gacho, Ralfs Eilands and others. The list of artists will be expanded as the 2022 festival approaches.
All tickets purchased for the festival are valid and do not require any additional steps to attend the Summer Sound Festival on July 29 and 30, 2022. Ticket sales on the summersound.lv website will continue for the 2022 festival. Details of the Summer Sound festival in 2022 will be announced over time.
