Irena Upė, a Lithuanian singer, performer, and producer, has recently shared her second album Upė (The river).
She self-produced it and released it on vinyl. In this album, the artist used nature sounds that she recorded in Šernų forests near Lithuania's port city Klaipėda.
She also writes Lithuanian national folk songs called "sutartinės", which can be heard in the song "Ugnis." Irena used to live in Klaipėda, but she moved to Vilnius a year ago. This album is her way of expressing this transformational journey.
Irena Upė is an alternative composer, singer, and performer from Lithuania. A wide range, deep and profound vocal sound, dark ethnic colours, and electronic vibes give an original sound to the music. From dark ethnic pop to the new age, from folktronica to ambient sound. Archetypal images and wild vocals connect the listener with the deep soul journey, where he can find an old legacy of our ancestors and a vision of the future.
