Monikaze unveils album "Weakness"

Lithuania's versatile avant-pop composer and performer, Monikaze, has been rapidly gaining international acclaim. She now presents her latest work, the album "Weakness", a year in the making, which delves into the intricacies of human vulnerabilities, as the title suggests.

The album "Weakness" comprises 8 tracks, each artfully exploring a different facet of human frailty. The song order is purposefully structured to narrate one person's journey through these vulnerabilities.

Monikaze adds with a smile:

Imagine an unstable, slightly peculiar individual who doesn't quite fit in, seeks solace in intoxication to numb feelings of inferiority, grapples with anger management issues, struggles to find sleep, battles depression, experiences love, and enjoys moments of happiness until the cycle begins anew. Love, too, is a weakness. This is the best thing I've done so far!

When questioned if the album mirrors her personal experiences, Monikaze responded that she is not the central character of this album, but she has encountered it significantly throughout her life.

Currently, Monikaze is recognized as one of Europe's most promising emerging artists. She was among the 15 music artists nominated for the prestigious Music Moves Europe award, previously won by the likes of Dua Lipa. Invitations for performances in various European countries, including New York, quickly followed. Monikaze's international appearances at events like Primavera Sound Barcelona in Spain and Iceland Airwaves, among many other European festivals, have consistently left audiences in awe.

Her avant-pop sound, distinguished by raw and electronically manipulated vocals, has become her signature style. It intricately blends electronic and acoustic elements, drawing inspiration from an array of genres such as IDM, electronica, jazz, and instrumental works by post-minimalist composers. Along her journey, she has supported acts like Caribou and Algiers, sharing her distinctive sound and captivating performances with the world.

Monikaze is signed with the internationally renowned UK music label Moshi Moshi Records, known for artists like Hot Chip and Hercules & Love Affair. Her previous albums under the label include "Waste of Space" and "Laws of Distraction".
