Sultry alt-pop band PODRUGA has released its debut full-length album “SEXTASY”, which includes singles “Don’t Let Me Down” and “SURRENDER”.
Musically, it is a sensual blend of art rock, 90’s electronics, groovy rhythms, and deeply penetrating sounds.
“We wrote the album while spending time in a cozy little cabin in the woods, sitting by a fireplace, all surrounded by warm feelings. It is the core atmosphere we wanted to include in the album”, says the band. “The themes in this album are all universal experiences - raw, sometimes confusing but all touching and significant to our time spent on earth. Be playful, dance naked, make love, create beautiful moments for yourself. We hope our music will become the perfect soundtrack for that”.
The album presentation event will take place on October 7 in Riga, Vagonu Halle (Vagonu street 21). The band will present the album in a special once-in-a-lifetime lineup, with Alise Golovacka (Nova Koma, Perestroika, Orbitrons), Staņislavs Kuļikovs (Martas Asinis, DZ, Nikto), Adrians Grīns (Chomsky Chess Club, Les Attitudes Spectrales, DZ) and Kristiāna Kārkliņa (Eschatos, Pamirt) joining on stage. The show will also feature erotic art performances. R&B composer Andrejs Gradinarovs will warm up the event, and DJs Burzma, PRIVATAZONA and 3STATE will continue on the night. Tickets here.
The album was recorded and produced by Edvards Broders (The Bad Tones) at the “Red House” studio in Riga. Mastering was done by Albert Levics (The Bad Tones).
PODRUGA is Alise Stefanoviča (vocals, keys, flute), Ričards Dauksts (guitar, keys), Jana Petkus (bass guitar), Kārlis Lazdovskis (drums). The band has been performing since 2016. PODRUGA has released five singles and EP “YPA!”, which was highly acclaimed by the Polish radio station Radio Centrum.
