Help people of Ukraine by listening to EZERI "Plāns Ledus"

Ezeri Plāns Ledus

Latvian band EZERI invites you to purchase and listen to a new, previously unreleased song called “Plāns Ledus" (eng."Thin ice") in order to support the people of Ukraine during this difficult time. As the band puts it:

“It is truly heartbreaking to see what putin has done to the people of Ukraine, their democracy and freedom. We have a new, previously unreleased song that we want to offer you for a price of your own choosing (3 EUR minimum). All income will be donated to the people of Ukraine on ziedot.lv

On the first day, the song raised nearly 500 EUR, all of which went directly to Ukraine. The song is available for purchase on Bandcamp.

EZERI is an ever-evolving project, based in Riga, led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mikelis Putnins. The music does not follow any particular formula – each track is different in form and harmony, influenced by all sorts of different genres ranging from experimental electronic to folk, keeping in mind the inspiring creative aesthetics of free-jazz.

EZERI started 2016 with a solo tour in Italy, stripping the songs to the very core keeping just the guitar and voice, but since then has grown into a trio, involving drummer Krisjanis Bremss and bassist Kristians Priekulis. Although the concerts at the moment are acoustic, the trio more than makes up for leaving the electronics home with an enthusiastic and intensely emotional performance. EZERI aims to create works that explore the wild side of pop music giving the listener a sonic space to inhabit and delve into.

Their debut album OGLE (July 2016) was very well received, gaining a lot of attention and praise from local critics. It was nominated as The Best Debut for the Annual Latvian Recorded Music Awards and was widely covered in local media. EZERI also performed at TEDxRiga 2017 and their second album "Sāls" was released in 2019.
