Festival goers will remember PYØR and her raspy yet sharp signature vocal from Positivus festival where she performed in the year 2016 when she was only 17 years young. But don’t let her young age fool you, she has been invested in music since she was a kid.
PYØR (Taronuhi “Taron” Khachyan) is a classically trained musician and songwriter who fell in love with music the second her fingers first touched a set of piano keys and held a pair of drumsticks at the ripe age of 6. Taking pure pieces of her soul and transforming them into audible masterpieces over the last 16 years, PYØR has been gearing up to take the music world by storm as not just an artist, but as a tastemaker. Known for her authentic, raw lyrics, infectious piano melodies and sharp vocals world-wide, PYØR has the ability to bend multiple genres into her own “pure” and versatile sound.
Following her latest piano-based releases, 2-track EP “Stripped” and the mental-health awareness anthem “Lucky”, New-York based mellow-pop songstress PYØR is back with a pop-electronic smash record – “You Got Me”.
“This song is one’s confession of becoming powerfully attracted to a stranger, someone they haven’t ever spoken to, and diving deeper into the fantasy of being with them. It is a starry-eyed, romanticized version of love and attraction that most of us, if we were lucky, have experienced at least once in our lives.”
“I haven’t released anything like this before,” PYØR shares. The combination of her raspy vocals and upbeat production will make listeners drawn to the idea of falling in love with a perfect stranger. Metropolitan vivacity combined with euphonious lyrics shape “You Got Me” into a summer anthem and reinvent PYØR both as a performer and a songwriter.
The internationally recognized success of PYØR’s debut single ”Broke My Rules” landed the artist in Today’s Top Hits, Fresh Finds, Good Vibes and more of Spotify’s star-studded editorial playlists – along with snagging the #5 spot in Spotify UK’s Viral Top 50 and the #1 spot in Vodafone’s Big Top 40 back in 2016. The feel-good anthem accumulated over 6.9 million streams and solidified a loyal international fanbase.
Having taken a break from touring and releasing music over the last 2 years to focus solely on songwriting, PYØR came back with her sophomore single and electro-pop lullaby which embraced the untold, raw stories behind love – ”Forget to Remember” that has already accumulated over 182 thousand streams.
Her next single “Gentleman” took on a character of its own, narrated by PYØR’s raspy yet sharp signature vocal and its addictive piano melody and delicate rhythm.
“Lucky” is a guide for discovering your weaknesses and overcoming your inner battles by finding your way outside of the limitations one creates in their minds and “Stripped” is a 2-track piano-based EP where PYØR presents listeners with her writing process with her piano and her vocals.
Her soulful, strong and distinct vocals enable her to be a chameleon and adapt to a versatile range of productions, as well as ignite her with the confidence to light up any stage she steps foot on. She has performed on stages and festivals all over the world – including Positivus Festival, the biggest festival in the Baltics at the age of 17, and NYC’s legendary Bowery Electric. Praised by the likes of Acid Stag, HillyDilly, KickKickSnare and more, she has been declared as an artist on the rise and one-to-watch. Performing for crowds of over 32,000 fans by the age of 22, her personality on-and-off stage stays the same – dedicated and passionate about her craft, while always remaining the purest version of herself.
