Estonian pop/electronic act NOËP reveals his new upbeat single ‘KIDS (ft. Emily Roberts)’, accompanied by a self-directed music video with an unexpected yet thought-provoking storyline. The new song follows focus single ‘Head Out Of The Water’ off his highly-anticipated debut album ‘No Man Is An Island’, arriving on November 26th.
Written together with singer-songwriter Emily Roberts and producer Liam Mour at the inspiring Funkhaus studio in Berlin, the track talks about people not wanting to take responsibility for their actions. As the main vocalist on the track, German-British artist Emily Roberts found the writing process to be a nice symbiosis of talented writers coming together and expressing this “weight of the world” sort of pain, making it cynical and almost comical.
“People tend to think that ‘KIDS’ is about connecting with our inner child, youthfulness etc. and in a way it’s great that they do. But actually it is yet again (as many of my recent tracks) inspired by environmental concerns and how we grown-ups are just big toddlers who can’t see past our own noses,” explains NOËP.
Having directed several commercials, videos and films, NOËP has a drive to tell his own stories via his music videos. For the newest single he had a very clear music video concept and message in mind and you could say that the track was just waiting for the right time. ”When I was halfway done writing my upcoming album, it suddenly hit me that ‘KIDS’ is conceptually a perfect fit for the album. I’m also very excited to see how people will react to a track where I’m not the lead vocalist,” said NOËP.
NOËP’s highly-anticipated long player, marks a new chapter in his musical journey. The darker sound of the album was inspired by the cold dark Estonian winter during which it was written and produced. NOËP’s debut album ‘No Man Is An Island’ will be available everywhere November 26.
