Sold out concerts, prestigious nominations, countless No. 1 hits, and here he will be, for the first time in Latvia, on May 6 next year, English musician Jake Bugg will perform in the Palladium concert hall.
The artist will be visiting Riga within the framework of his latest album “Saturday Night, Sunday Morning”, which will be reaching the audience later this year on August 20.
English musician, singer and songwriter Jake Bugg first introduced himself with his singles “Lightning Bolt” and “Two Fingers” from his debut album “Jake Bugg” (2012), which were both praised by music critics and ranked in the top spots on the music charts, they have also reached more than 60 million plays on the Spotify music streaming service. The album also reached number one on the UK album chart, making Jake Bugg the youngest solo artist to debut at number one on the UK album chart. It was also nominated for the prestigious Mercury Award and sold over 600,000 copies, ranking it among the best-selling albums.
A major milestone in Jake Bugg’s musical career was the opportunity to perform on the BBC Introducing stage at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival, where after performing the artist received an offer and signed a contract with the prestigious record company Mercury Records, which has also represented world-wide stars such as David Bovie, Dolly Parton, and Elton John. Jake Bugg returned to the Glastonbury Festival in 2013, this time on the festival’s largest stage, Pyramid, making him the first artist to move from BBC Introducing to the festival’s main stage in successive years.
The British edition of The Guardian has called Jake Bugg “a real phenomenon that conquers the music charts” and is compared to the legendary musician Bob Dylan.
During his relatively short career, Jake Bugg has been nominated for prestigious awards such as the BRIT awards, the Ivor Novello Awards, the Mercury Prize and won the 2013 Q Awards as Best Newcomer and the 2015 NME awards as “Best Solo Artist”. In addition to sold-out solo concerts, Jake Bugg has warmed up world-famous artists such as Lana Del Ray, Example, Michael Kiwanuka, Noel Gallagher and The Black Keys.
