Recently back from touring in Iceland, Sweden, and the UK, Waterflower returns to Latvia and releases a heartfelt, hyper-pop cover of Madonna’s classic ‘Oh Father’, accompanied by a music video.
The music video was created during Kino Euphoria 2023 in Helsinki, Finland. The creative team for the music video consisted of Sabine Moore (director, DOP, and musician), actors Anna Kolkowska, Mira Salmela, and Finnish Drag Queens Jamie Deetz and Anafina Slick.
‘Oh Father’ is a baroque pop ballad originally recorded by American singer Madonna for her fourth studio album Like a Prayer (1989). This hyperpop version of ‘Oh Father’ was recorded, arranged, and produced by Waterflower, mixed, and mastered by Lomix.
Waterflower is the alter-ego of multimedia artist Sabine Moore. Drawing influences from nature, science, and the local history in Art Nouveau, Waterflower creates eco-futuristic avant-pop. This is highlighted by their work with plants both as a composition tool and a “living” midi keyboard. Working entirely off the back of their visual arts and multimedia design education, Sabīne not only creates and produces their own music but also uses Waterflower's visual imagery as a personal art platform.
